As I am every year, I am thankful for the health & happiness of the awesome people in my life. And this year I am also very thankful for the following (in no particular order):
• The opening of the Planned Parenthood in Aurora, IL.
They had to fight hard against a bunch of anti-choice activists who tried to shut them down before they even opened. But the anti-choice folks LOST and now PP is serving the needs of women, girls (and families) in a community that really needed them!
•The Chicago Women’s Health Center. If you have never had a pap smear at a feminist-run health care center, baby, you don’t know what you are missing!
• Fatale Media. Not only are they distributing our movies for us (less paperwork for me, yeah!) but they have rocked the house for years as pioneers in the world of authentic lesbian-made porn. They made the first dyke sex movie I ever saw (Clips) and it changed my life!
•The Chicago Abortion Fund. They help women pay for abortions & obtain services. Serious kick-ass grassroots stuff.
• Flight of the Conchords. I know it makes me no different then millions of slacker/hipsters, but this is really the best show ever. It makes me very happy. You can see one of my favorite scenes by clicking here.
• The blog feministing. I go there for my daily dose of feminism and so should you!
•Etsy! Where I buy all my jewelry and papercut art! Crafters united!
• My Hitachi Magic Wand & Miggy G Harness. Two of my favorite things in my toy box (at least this week)!
• You dear reader! We wouldn’t be here without your sexy ass supporting us!
