This is really great. The Sex Positive Journalism Awards, or “Sexies” for short, exists “to give mainstream journalists encouragement and support for covering sexual topics in unsensationalistic honest fashion.” You can also check out their award criteria and their list of judges (which include such luminaries as Carol Queen, Rachel Kramer Bussel, and Debby Herbenick).
They have their list of winners up on the site, along with links to the articles. And while you may know most or all of the information conveyed in the pieces (our readership is so smart!), they’re worth reading as a reminder that the mainstream media can sometimes, actually, do their job well.
