Women’s Leather History Project

The Leather Archives and Museum is a great resource for alternative sexuality in Chicago. The museum contains books, magazines, publications, films, and artifacts that document a global history of leather, BDSM, and fetishism. The LA&M originated in gay men’s leather culture, so most of its collection has focused in this area until now with the Women’s Leather History Project. This project will work to preserve and educate the public on the contributions and experiences of women in alternative sexual lifestyles. Here is a sweet video, in which CarnalNation’s Monk interviews Jennifer Tyburczy of LA&M about the project.
