One of our affiliates and former employees, Garnet Joyce, does a regular column for Pop My Cherry about ethical pornography. She has interviewed a few of our favorite porn stars, directors, and producers. Most recently, she interviewed feminist porn genius, Shine Louise Houston. Yeah, she’s that woman who put up the Crash Pad Series and Heavenly Spire websites, and produced feature films like Wild Search, Champion and Superfreak.
Garnet put together a video with Houston’s voice over images from her websites. I like the video format because it gives me a much better sense of who Houston is, her voice and presence, than a traditional transcript would. She talks about how working at a feminist sex toy shop influenced her work, what makes her an ethical pornographer (being responsible for her actions and the images she puts into the world), and how she finds such beautifully diverse models to work with.
