Mind/Body Approaches to Navigating Pelvic Pain
Mind/Body Approaches to Navigating Pelvic Pain is a 2-hour workshop that combines education about the physiology and psychology of pelvic pain alongside practical approaches to navigating pain with medical providers and sexual partners. This includes:
- discussion of pelvic anatomy and the role stress plays in pelvic pain
- the ways sexual trauma, sexual shame, and gender dysphoria can manifest as pelvic pain
- pathways to building a relationship with your pain
- recommendations for specialists, medications, and treatment options
- pain management strategies that can be self-facilitated
- introduction to pain management tools sold at Early to Bed
- body-based exercises that support emotional regulation and pelvic tension release
- mindsets that facilitate satisfaction when working with sexual limitations
- and structures for sexual communication
The workshop is based in a pleasure-centered perspective, welcomes all genders, and uses gender neutral language for sexual anatomy.
Masks required. Everyone will be asked to sign simple sharp tool liability form at the workshop.
