The tails are quite soft, more than expected. The handle is sturdy and easy to index, I never found myself afraid it was going to slip out. It's a great flogger for someone who prefers less intense scenes, a beginner, or someone with thinner skin. I tend to start a long flogging scene with this one to get warmed up, before moving to something more intense. Overall, a fantastic toy.
