Chitosante fabric is a polyester fabric made from chitosan, which is a biomass from crab and shrimp shells. One study on folks with shellfish allergies did not result in anybody having an adverse reaction to the fabric, but if you have a severe shellfish allergy or are concerned you may choose to skip this fabric. This material has also been used in emergency bandage applications with no reports of allergy issues in multiple studies.
