Folks have been asking us to carry Trans Tape for a while and we were finally able to add it to our collection! Trans tape can be used in many ways including flattening your chest, tucking or adhering a packer to your body. Don't worry, it comes with instructions!
We do want folks to know that this is an adhesive product so there are possibilities for harm to your skin, please read our Before You Buy note at the bottom.
These come packaged with nipple guards and directions. We also carry Jojoba oil for help with removal. We recommend the Meadow Magic Salve from Nymph and Woodsman for soothing skin as well (like goes to another website). Note that the colors may not match exactly what you see on your screen. We do not take any returns on this so please reach out if you have any questions!
• Medium is 4" Wide
• Rolls are 16.5ft in length and can last for 1-3 months depending on activity level, chest size and how often you need to change your tape. Average use will typically last 2 months
*Due to supplier variance, our stock may contain different adhesives. It is recommended to always do a test strip before application.*
TRANS TAPE: KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY!
Chest skin is super thin, especially if you are a person who has been binding for a while! Please be aware that if you apply this too tight, even if it is comfortable- there is still a chance that you will experience blistering and abrasions.
Trans Tape lasts a really long time, which is great! (in theory). However the longer you wear it- the more likely it is that you will experience numbness in your chest. Feeling that numbness is a huge safety concern because you may not know if your skin is tearing or bruising.
Trans Tape does come with nipple covers, however our testers have found them to be insufficient. They may shift, and will not cover larger areolas. An alternative would be to invest in adhesive square bandages that are large enough to cover your areola as well as the surrounding area, that skin is super sensitive as well.
Please invest in an oil of your choice to remove Trans Tape. You will need a lot of it, so expensive oil is not suggested. Try sunflower oil, shea butter, canola oil, jojoba oil or castor oil. It also helps to remove it after a hot water shower to release the adhesive.
Please listen to your body, if it hurts AT ALL (soreness, sensitivity, numbness, scratching), safely and slowly remove it, and give your body a few days to heal before trying again.
I have been binding for years, and have been looking forward to trying trans tape for a super long time. I am a transmasc person with a larger bodily build, broad shoulders, and a smaller sized chest that has been flattened from binding. This product worked out really well for me! I used 4 pieces of tape to get my desired flattening affect. It MOSTLY held up for 2 days, 2 showers- but I did have to readjust some tape after showering. Having it on for two days was extremely euphoric for me! I tried out both of the sizes and found that the medium worked better for my build and desired effect, but ultimately its up to what works for you!
There are two reasons this product wont get a full five stars from me; accessibility and the removal process. If you are a person that has mobility issues of any kind, this product would definitely be stressful to apply, there is a lot of contortion required (at least for a smoother flattening effect). The removal process was painful for me, I have a rather hairy chest and did not prep by shaving- but many folks recommend shaving-I do too now that I know (ouch!!). You do have to use oil of any kind to remove it (I used coconut oil), and we recommend removing it in the shower.
I intend on using this product regularly in replacement to a binder until I am able to get top surgery! I recommend 100% if your body is able to contort a bit. Please prepare by shaving the area you are applying tape to in order to avoid a painful removing process! :)
